Came here for the pancakes and they did not disappoint. They have a crunch on the outside and are fluffy inside. Great deal for about ¥500. The host/chef is also very kind and spoke English well.
Good hotcakes and napolitan spaghetti
Delicious soufflé pancakes, the couple that own the cafe are extremely friendly and have great customer service. Very welcoming to tourists and had a chat with us about our holiday in Japan. Love this place, will definitely go back next time we're in Japan.
Their pancake is very fluffy inside, and toasted outside. Unique and tasty. Affordable at only 550¥
Gluten overload 10/10
It's a nice walk from the train station through residential area to this non-touristy place. The owner and his wife were very happy to receive us. We had the very special and amazing pancakes. Then afterwards go across the other side of the trains Tatiana for shopping and lots of local shopping!
I like the pancakes 🥞!!!!!You must to try itIt really a lovely shop😍
おいしい。。 Nice place, comfortable, cheap, delicious,, really recommended
Loved it owner speeks great english
The pancake & coffee is so good!!👍👍✨and the host is so nice to talk to us😊
The host was very polite, he knew some English and was hard at work. The fluffy pancakes were yummy, and the coffee tasty.
This place was amazing! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the warmest owner. There are no English menus but fret not, the best places are ones with no English menus. You’re going for the pancakes anyways so you don’t need a menu. But if you are curious, the owner does speak English! I had the pancakes, of course, and hot chocolate. Oh my, it was delicious!! Definitely recommend if you want to try the Japanese style pancake! It’s a very local spot. Quaint and quiet. Away from all the tourists. It can be intimidating walking into a place alone but the owner was so sweet and friendly. He asked where I was from and how long I was in Japan for. A truly genuine kindness. Wonderful start to my day!!
Best pancake ever!!!
Went there on a weekday. Was almost empty. The hotcakes are cheap, beautiful and delicious. The owner is friendly and very kind. He is running this place for over 50 years now. And while on weekday to get a seat is pretty easy, on weekends there is always a line. No reservations taken!! So if you have time, go on the weekday. Interior is also amazing. You can feel the old Tokyo. So peaceful. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you are already nearby or at least around Ikebukuro area.
Wonderful, ambiance, small but oh so cozy little place. There are not many restaurants around so this place is a find. Warm with leather seats, wood interior and subtle jazz music in the background. They have antique but working video games for tables. The husband and wife duo doesn’t speak english but they are so friendly and accommodating. And the food of course is really good. Clearly made with pride in their business. Loved this place.
Good pancakes. About a 30 minute walk from ikebukuro station west exit or 10 minutes from Oyama Station on the Tobu Tōjō line.
Best hot cakes and toasted sandwiches in Tokyo. Fantastic fruit juice and corn soup, too. Highly recommend. Oyama is definitely one of the best areas in Tokyo. Please visit.
This place was great. The owner was very polite, and attentive, he spoke English to us and made conversation. I would definitely recommend it to any traveler looking for good pancakes in Tokyo.
An old-fashioned coffee shop in a quiet residential area. The nearest station is the middle of Shimoitabashi Station or Oyama Station on the Tojo Line, and a little over 10 minutes on foot. Every time it is introduced in the media, there is a line, but it takes about a month to settle down.Hot pancakes are the opposite of the recent trend of fluffy and firm and firm. It's not so delicious as a flattery, but it's cheap and it's for children. There is more volume, so it is helpful for children. It seems that young people are ordering for "shining" visuals.
This was such a great little find.Set in a 1950’s style Italian-American diner, complete with Pinocchio memorabilia, the owner and his wife serve up some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The hot chocolate is also fantastic! We will be back again soon!
